All surfers need to make their own ding repair stands to help with the repair process of the 2nd most loved posession.

Its easy when you follow my plans below

Here is a picture showing the basic look you are trying to achieve

 

Below is my set of stands i made at home for my ding repairs, very basic but they do the job great

 

Materials required

2 x Car steel rims

4 mtrs of 20mm steel boxing

2 mtrs of plumbers pipe insulation id20mm

1 x roll electrical tape

Instructions

cut steel boxing into 10 peices @ 180mm long for the cradle

cut 4 of the 180mm pieces on a 45degree angle one end only for the top pieces

cut the remaining steel boxing into 2 peices @ 670mm long for the uprights

with the left over steel boxing cut into 4 pieces at 145mm long for the base to fix to the tyre rims

Weld pieces together as per plan attached above

Cut plumbers pipe insulation into 2 x 1mtr lengths and fit over cradle, to hold the insulation in place wrap electrical tape firmly around.

 

 

The finished product is sturdy but light to move around.
